2025Lepro Society representative A. Wahid Basha emphasized the need for public awareness about leprosy. On Saturday, the society, in collaboration with the Tenali Double Horse Foundation, conducted an awareness program titled "Leprosy and its Treatment" at Gupta Pharmacy College on Burripalem Road.
Speaking at the event, Wahid Basha highlighted that several awareness sessions are being organized in and around Tenali as part of the National Leprosy Eradication Fortnight. He urged people to seek immediate medical tests if they notice non-sensitive patches on their skin, as early detection and timely medication can effectively reduce the severity of the disease.
We believe that awareness and timely treatment are crucial in eradicating leprosy, a curable disease often misunderstood and stigmatized. By spreading knowledge, encouraging early detection, and supporting community initiatives, we aim to reduce its impact and promote healthier, stigma-free lives. Compassion, education, and action drive our commitment to this cause.
he session saw active participation from the college's faculty and staff, who appreciated the informative discussion on leprosy prevention and treatment strategies.
